  1. I have been tracing Embrees from Illinois. Started with John Embree 1701-1790 Orange county Virginia.

    John Embree 1701
    Joseph Embree 1727-Abt 1750
born Orange county Virginia died Howard Missouri
Caleb Embree 8-7-1776 Orange Virginia Married to Fanny Burris in Clark Kentucky died 10/17/1849 Randolph Missouri
Jacob R Embree born in Kentucky about 1807 Married Mary Flynn 8-20-33 Clark Kentucky died in Illinois
William M Embree Born 1851 Morgan ? county Illinois married 3-11-1981 Springfield Illinois to Lorinda Williams
died in Pekin, Tazewell, Illinois 1892to 1900
Ethel Francis Embree 8-30-1890 married Harry Harms from Peoria Illinois Oct 22 1907 died Jan 9 1974

Is this family related to any of the Embrees you have tracked back?

  2. I am new on Ancestry.com. I don’t know. The Embrees I know about all have ties to the South, then Belton, Texas. Sorry I can’t help you more. Good luck.

  3. I have been tracing the Embree family for over 40 yrs. Caleb and Sarah Burris Embree are my 4th great grandparents. They are both buried in a family plot near the Randoplph County line in Missouri. Caleb was not married to Fanny Burrus. Caleb married Sarah Burrus 14 Feb 1803 Clark Co KY. Caleb is the son of Joseph Embree and Mildred Burrus. Jacob R. Embbree is a son of Caleb and Sarah. Jacob’s family went to Illinois. The rest of the line that you have is correct. I use to correspond with Dorothy Kramer who is a great granddau. of Jacob. R. Embree.

  4. Caleb and Sarah Burris Embree are my 4th great grandparents also. My branch of the Embree tree moved from Moberly, Missouri to Pittsburg, Kansas and then to Kansas City. I agree with the information that Caleb married Sarah, not Fannie.
